This unique bracelet using our exclusive Sanada Obi, a tightly handwoven Japanese silk cord with a 400 year old history. The sturdy Obi material was originally used in the 1600's for Kimono belts and for samurai warriors to wrap their sword handles. Created on specialty looms outside of Kyoto, a full length of Obi can take up to one month to complete. All original colors and patterns in deep tones of brown, green and blue are maintained to preserve its unique level of craftsmanship and durability. The Sanada Obi is securely stitched onto vegetable tanned leather and is hand fabricated in San Francisco. Features an adjustable toggle closure to accommodate various wrist sizes. Woven in Japan, made in America.

Ancient Japanese woven Obi cord has been made in Japan for centuries and was originally used by warriors to fasten or wrap sword handles. It has now been taken in a different direction as a watch strap, lined with soft leather and maintaining traditional woven colors and patterns. The watch case has a satin finish, a simple applied dot index and matching colored dial to compliment the cord. The Obi strap wraps the wrist twice and has a satin plating finish buckle. This watch design is an homage to the history of Japanese indigo and the humble beginnings of this durable and rich material. Resourced from Osaka, Japan, the fabric used on the straps feature a variation of authentic patterns ranging from a tonal geometric print to a subtle flecked pattern. The result is a deep blue and contrasting white which are achieved through traditional Indigo dyeing methods.
